TAG was a 2D barcode that worked similar to QR code

This project involved a very big challenge in that this technology MS developed would enable users with the TAG software on all phones to simply take a scan of an image and be directed to interact in various contextual ways dictated by the TAG back end system. Problem that I was task to solve was “what if two people (companies) think they own the rights to that image?” Below is my design solution in mid-fidelity wireframe format.

User logs in and sees there is a conflict with one of their images they have uploaded.

User problem/objective

As stated above, this issue is all about ‘image conflict resolution’ wherein any user can enter conflicting information to direct specific users to different marketing channels based on a specific image.

My personal course of action

One of the largest challenges of this project was to understand how the system can identify similar images and thus send it to another internal team for review. I also had to conduct extensive research into copyright law to provide the most accurate information to the resolution staff.

Results/project outcome

After various rounds of designs and final suggestions management at Microsoft abandoned this entire effort and shut down all future development.
